There are a great many of collections in CAFA Art Museum, including ancient and current ages, foreign and local, with painting, sculptures, folk art, industrial arts and design and so on. Among those subjects, the most splendid part is presentation of the China Ancient paintings and art works of famous masters through the ages of CAFA, which carries on the spirits of CAFA.
There are many famous works presented, such as of Song Dynasty, of Qiu Ying, <12 Landscape View Screen> of Yuan Jiang and so on, which are from Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasty. When you are walking beside them, you will be attracted by their beauty and will appreciate and taste them. With dense ink or thin strokes, it seems that the elegance and generous spirits are beside you.
Meanwhile, we have selected the excellent collections of oil paintings and China traditional paintings, which are created by masters through the ages of CAFA. Among those works, the works of presidents of CAFA are especially recommended, such as of Xu Beihong, of Wu Zuoren, of Jin Shangyi and so on. Their thinking and works have made great influence on those new-comings and affected all people of CAFA. They denoted their whole lives to China current art education and the building and development of CAFA. Although some of them are old in ages, they are still teaching and denoting in education and researching.
It was more than 90 years since CAFA has been founded. The cause of CAFA has been passed from generation to generation and is full of wisdoms and spirits of elder generation. Most of the presented works of the presentation were denoted by authors or their families. Besides, some families and college professors of deceased artists were willing to denote their works to us. It was their selfless and generous spirits that enrich CAFA’s collections. At the moment of celebrating our motherland’s 60th-birthday, we are showing to the elder generation our highest consideration and heartfelt regards by the presentation.
The presentation is one of series presentations of CAFA collections. In the future, we will held more collections presentation by different categories and planning theses and will arrange and research the collections to reflect the value of collections and to make more and more people and students to appreciate and benefit from them.
