Re-recognition of Game:CAFA Game Art Exhibition

Re-recognition of Game:CAFA Game Art Exhibition

Introduction

On September 8th, 2018, “Re-recognition of Game: CAFA Game Art Exhibition” was opened at the CAFA Art Museum. It is the first time that game works have been regarded as artistic forms and exhibited in a major national art museum. The exhibition discusses the combination of games with other fields such as art, education and medicine, aiming to explore the functional value, cultural significance as well as the artistic value of games, disseminating the positive value of functional games. Today, the driving force of a field often comes from its outside. In the exhibition, game is not classified as an art form. It provides a possibility in building a frontier that aggregates different systems, and therefore pushes the aggregation and cluster development of elements in different fields. "Re-recognition of Game" is not only about the expansion of games, but also an attitude and exploration toward the future. The creativity and imagination hidden in the game is what is most needed to promote the development of the modern era.
