“北京媒体艺术双年展”特别展览【实验空间】拉开帷幕



2016年9月24日,“CAFA金秋国际艺术汇”核心项目之一,首届北京媒体艺术双年展(BMAB)在中央美术学院美术馆拉开帷幕。作为2016北京国际设计周的主题展览,首届北京媒体艺术双年展在中华世纪坛艺术馆与中央美术学院美术馆同时展出。中央美术学院作为本届“北京媒体艺术双年展”的主办单位,与北京国际设计周组委会、德国B3动态影像双年展共同呈现此展览,从媒体艺术的专业角度出发,与德国B3动态影像双年展联合推出BMAB+B3系列艺术展览,包括“技术伦理”主题展览、“实验空间”特别展览、城市公共屏幕展、网上超链接展等,当晚,北京媒体艺术双年展特别版块“实验空间”先期开幕与公众见面。



德国黑森州科学与艺术部部长鲍里斯·莱茵(Boris Rhein)先生,德国B3动态影像双年展总监、北京媒体艺术双年展总策展人、德国奥芬巴赫艺术与设计大学校长贝恩德 ·柯睿克(Bernd Kracke)教授,德国大使馆文化参赞恩瑞科·布朗特先生;本届双年展的总策展人、中央美术学院副院长苏新平教授,四川美术学院院长庞茂琨教授,中央美术学院学术委员会副主任隋建国教授,中央美术学院院长助理兼教务处处长王晓琳女士,中华世纪坛艺术馆馆长冀鹏程先生,策展团队中央美术学院特聘专家陈小文教授、设计学院副院长靳军教授、设计学院费俊副教授等出席了展览开幕式。展览总策展人、设计学院院长宋协伟教授主持了当晚的开幕仪式。

苏新平副院长在致辞中指出,媒体艺术是跨学科、跨领域、高技术的综合。作为中国重要的艺术学府,中央美术学院在媒体艺术教学方面有着较长的历史,担负着媒体艺术的教学与学术研究的重任,力求站在全球科技艺术发展的前沿并着眼于媒体艺术在中国的普及和传播。

鲍里斯·莱茵部长向首届北京媒体艺术双年展的成功举办表示了祝贺,他认为,BMAB+B3系列艺术展览的合作,是中德双方在文化交流,特别是媒体艺术合作方面的一项重要里程碑。他高度赞扬了媒体艺术在中国的蓬勃发展,令中国成为了媒体艺术的巨大市场和新兴力量,希望即将在2017年举行的以“欲望·诉求”为主题的德国B3双年展中,看到更多中国艺术家的优秀作品。

开幕式当晚,还举办了入选第88届奥斯卡最佳外语片初选名单的德国电影《缄默的迷宫》放映活动,影片导演朱利欧·里加雷利(Giulio Ricciarelli)来到现场,与观众们见面并交流创作体会。

北京媒体艺术双年展作为一个推动艺术与科技交叉实验的国际学术平台,围绕“技术伦理”这一主题,双年展集中呈现艺术家在科学、大数据、人工智能、生物基因和混合现实等领域的跨学科艺术实验,并邀请艺术家、设计师、科学家和理论家来共同对科技在社会中应用的感性进行深入讨论,生成社会新知;作为一个孵化艺术与产业融合创新的国际交流平台,双年展集聚了来自艺术、设计、影视、游戏、互联网、智能科技等领域的创意人才、创业先锋和技术专家,为创意产业打造跨领域孵化机体;作为一个激活艺术与城市有机共生的国际创意平台,双年展开创性地使用城市公共屏幕作为艺术载体,使媒体艺术深度融入公共空间,形成跨地域的文化效应,为城市注入富于活力的创意能量。展览邀请了国内外40多位艺术家对“技术伦理”这一展览主题进行作品创作与展示,作品类型包括动态影像、互动装置、沉浸式艺术、生物艺术、机械装置、声音视觉、网络艺术、声音艺术和混合媒介等丰富的艺术形态。


本届展览的总顾问,中央美术学院院长范迪安教授认为,作为中国在媒体艺术教学方面有着较长历史的艺术学府,中央美术学院担负着这项综合艺术在教学和学术研究上的多重重任,既要力争站在全球科技艺术发展的前沿,也要关注和致力媒体艺术在中国的普及传播。“北京媒体艺术双年展”正是在科技文化发展的新态势下,在技术发展和艺术创新深度融合的任务面前所筹划的一个大型国际艺术展。以“技术伦理”为题,我们力求使艺术家、研究者和公众围绕人与技术的关系来展开对话,从而形成新的主体意识。








位于中央美术学院美术馆的北京媒体艺术双年展“实验空间”特别展览板块在9月24日晚开幕,此板块以专题的方式进行展示:盖里·希尔专题、VR专题、沉浸专题、电影专题、Experimenta 专题、B3获奖艺术家专题,以及演出专题,分别以不同的艺术形式对“技术伦理”这一话题展开讨论。其中,VR专题是迄今为止国内最大规模对于VR作品的集中展示,在此专题中不仅有国内艺术家田晓磊、朗雪波与王跖、刘言韬、周戭等创作的VR作品,更有德国B3动态影像展推荐的VR电影与短片,以及14部穹顶VR作品构成的“沉浸专题”,以全新的叙事逻辑重新开始“讲故事”。

位于中华世纪坛艺术馆的北京媒体艺术双年展;“技术伦理”主题展览板块将于9月25日晚开幕,以克里斯多夫·沃迪斯科、乔纳森·哈里斯、约翰·纳乔普·詹森、斯德勒克、爱德华多·卡茨为代表的艺术家,从科学、大数据、混合现实、人工智能与生物基因等热点话题切入“技术伦理”主题,通过作品与热点话题之间的关联性阐释“技术伦理”。为了使公众更好的理解展览主题,展厅内大量的“文献研究”内容,使相对高精尖的专业知识转化为通俗易懂的内容,并以“数据可视化”的方式进行交互呈现。

除此之外,将在北京地铁4号线与14号线的公共屏幕中展示“城市公共屏幕展”,在北京媒体艺术艺术双年展官网网站(www.bmab.co)中呈现永不落幕的“超链接展”。同时在展览期间将推出主题论坛、专题沙龙、大师班、工作坊等一系列公共活动,为社会公众奉献立体式、多维度的“技术伦理”北京媒体艺术双年展。由艺术家比尔·沃恩与路易斯-菲利浦·德摩斯共同创作的《inferno:人机共舞》将于9月28日登陆中央美术学院,将展览推向高潮。

I fully agree to CAFA Art Museum (CAFAM) submitting to CAFA for publication the images, pictures, texts, writings, and event products (such as works created during participation in workshops) related to me from my participation in public events (including museum member events) organized by the CAFA Art Museum Public Education Department. CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer

Article I

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

Article II

Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.

Article III

Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.

Article IV

Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.

Article V

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
