建筑的艺术

9月19日19点,普利策奖获得者英国建筑师、城市规划师理查德· 罗杰斯(Richard Rogers)勋爵,在中央美术学院美术馆的学术报告厅内,为公众带来了一场题为《从住宅到城市》的讲座。讲座由央美美术馆公教部负责人任蕊担任学术主持,陪同罗杰斯一起出席讲座的嘉宾有罗杰斯·史达克·哈伯+合伙人事务所,上海办公室的总监本·华纳、英国大使馆文化教育处卢雨皙女士等。在卢雨皙女士感谢讲座的主办方央美美术馆公教部,和对英国大使馆文化节做了简短的介绍之后,罗杰斯先生的讲座正式开始。

初识罗杰斯

记得罗杰斯曾说过“细节上的吸引,是感官上的,是建筑中诗意的一部分,是您在建筑中所听到的音乐。”服装配搭的色彩是初识的人们在感官上的第一印象。罗杰斯当日天蓝色的衬衫,配以深蓝色的裤子,撞色搭配了姜黄色的腰带和橘色腕表, 这一切的色彩信息和细节,带给我们的第一印象是:虽已是年近耄耋,但依然保有青春的活力和热忱的理查德·罗杰斯。

罗杰斯·史达克·哈伯+合伙人事务所(RSHP:一个注重团队协作、公平公正、具有社会责任感的大家庭
罗杰斯在介绍罗杰斯·史达克·哈伯+合伙人事务所的时候,首先,向大家展示了一张集体照,这让所有人眼睛为之一亮的照片,特别之处就在于:事务所来自三十几个国家的约二百名员工,着不同颜色的衣衫,微笑着浩浩荡荡的排成了彩虹。罗杰斯提到,为了保证设计的质量和惯有水准,他们这些年来一直在控制员工的数量。这个事务有一个特点:首先,利润并不是分给伙伴人,产生的利润除了发放员工的工薪水之后,还将约20%的利润捐给慈善机构;其次,合伙人的薪酬有一个上限,即不能超过这个事务所的薪酬最低的设计师的八倍。再次,事务所的规模虽不是很大,但他们却是一个“大家庭”,除了定期出游等相应的员工福利之外,他们还有权选择将所得利润的 20%捐给哪家慈善机构。
建筑的语言,建筑的艺术
罗杰斯先生说:如同音乐一样,建筑也有自己的语言。他提及了:环境的可持续性、通透性、可辨认度和灵活可变性、空间存在感、规模和节奏等等。他举例说:拿这个建筑来说吧,大约是四十年前建造的。房子当时还未完全成型,这样的灵活可变性的特点是我们后期设计上所需要的。而且建筑的隔热非常好,几乎用不到空调设备。房间可以随着成员的增加,调整其面积的大小。”接下来,他又向我们展示了他为家人设计的房子,这个房子一样有:灵活性、流动性和自动扩展的特点,而且还十分通透。
1977年开馆的蓬皮杜中心是法国最著名博物馆之一,在为大家展示蓬皮杜中心的设计时,罗杰斯提到了设计时他最注重的两个概念:一是,建筑的理念应是什么?他说:“我们的理念是:将这里建造成为不同年龄层和种族的人,都可以在这里学习和消闲的聚集地。它的风格鉴于现代和古朴之间,是一座未来主义风格建筑。”他和伦佐皮亚诺认为建筑必须透明,让公众看到它是怎么构成的,所以决定把通常隐藏在建筑物内部的钢结构、水暖通风管道和玻璃自动扶梯等暴露在外面,完全颠覆了博物馆建筑的历史。二是,将建筑怎样的文化中心?他说:“蓬皮杜中心所在的地区原是巴黎的贫困区域,但由于蓬皮杜艺术中心的建立,改变了该地区的文化氛围,可能广场也为这个地区积攒了一些人气,使得整个地区重获新生。”
罗杰斯又如数家珍的向我们展示了
:伦敦劳埃德总部大厦,英国威尔士议会大厦世贸大楼、纽约世贸中心三号楼等项目的设计理念。在提及马德里四号航站楼设计时,他说:“这个设计体现的不仅仅是一个机场,更多是一种建筑的精神。在设计这个航站楼的时候,我们非常注重色彩的运用以及体现运动的理念,同时,我们还增加了一些娱乐的元素,使得它拥有‘自我’。大家可以看到图片上,因为整个航站楼非常长了,所以我们不仅使用一种颜色,而是从彩虹当中选取了颜色。大家设想一下这个情景,假如两个人在机场相约见面时不是说‘我们50号登机口见面’而是说‘我们相约在蓝色柱子下相见吧’,这样是不是更有趣呢?
罗杰斯设计的建筑被誉为:当代建筑历史的片段。而他本人也认为:建筑是最具社会性的,基本的建筑元素完全具有装饰意义。所以,他设计的建筑不仅与环境协调,而且独具特色。
城市的规划的艺术
罗杰斯为大家展示了他对伦敦市的规划,他说:“我一直秉承一个理念:能够建设建筑紧凑的、可持续的发展的城市。这个理念就是说在城市向外扩张之前,首先利用省市内部废弃地区。紧凑的城市有很多的优势,从环境来说比乡村居住更为可持续性,也就是说住在城市使用各种公共交通方式:你可以步行和骑自行车。

谈及北京交通拥堵的现状,他说:“我认为要解决交通拥堵问题,首先,要将车辆和汽油的价格提升;其次,入城车辆的数量要加以控制;再次,要减少停车空间。”他在稍后的例子中还提及了上海陆家嘴总体规划,这个颇具城市生活气息的总体规划,注重公共绿地和公共休闲空间的建设,减少了道路面积的比例、增加了步行系统,极大的提高了土地使用率和建筑利用率。
作为城市生活的忠实拥护者,罗杰斯认为,城市作为一个文明教化的中心,要将人类在世界上的活动,对环境的影响需减少到最低限度。他主张,未来的城市的区块应该把工作、生活、采购重叠起来,结合在持续、多样变化的结构中。
罗杰斯心中的“建筑”
演讲的最后,罗杰斯和本·华纳先生不仅对大家的问题给予了详细的解答。罗杰斯先生还描述了他心目中建筑的概念:“建筑应该是高科技与功能审美的集合体。通过对秩序、尺度、美观的设计,将平凡的空间转化为真正的建筑。”
罗杰斯先生将于首都博物馆举办的与该讲座同名的展览,展期将持续至11月18日,展览将展出建筑模型,图纸档案和媒体演示等,届时大家可以近距离的欣赏高技派大师的经典作品。

CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer

Article I

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
