“CAFAM国际艺术家系列谈第一场讲座《好博:从美术馆到艺博会》由中央美术学院美术馆和尤伦斯当代艺术中心主办,也是“UCCA走进大学系列项目的活动之一。在本次讲座中,艺术家双人组艾默格林(丹麦)与德拉塞特(挪威)(Elemgreen & Dragset)围绕他们的艺术理念,特别是近年来对空间关系的关注,以及即将举办的展览好博UCCA馆长田霏宇(Philip Tinari)展开对话。

空间转化是艾默格林与德拉塞特作品的关键词之一。两位艺术家曾分别致力于诗歌和戏剧创作。艺术家并未受过专业艺术训练的背景是带来这种与古典艺术相异的空间想法的重要原因。两人指出自身的作品旨在实验对空间的解构,以及重新营造语境后带来的空间中人们行为的变化和意义的更改。

代表作:不会开业的”Prada&沙漠中的Prada Marfa

2001年的作品“Opening Soon Prada”2005年在马尔法小镇建的普拉达商店“Prada Marfa”属于一个系列的作品,其背后是对资本主义不断发展的旁观。前者是他们在占用、挪用概念下的一次项目,成功之处在于人们完全相信了那是一家即将开业的Prada店,而与此同时,作为一个艺术现场,它却没有一个真正意义上的观众;后者将极简主义风格装饰的消费象征——普拉达商店——放置在只有两千名居民的位于德克萨斯沙漠中的小镇上,思考外部环境和内部装潢对作品本身意义的影响,它们既接近自然,又成为大众商品的一部分。这个永久性的孤独的商店没有入口也没有出口,它的命运与荒漠融为一体。



Prada Marfa

 

空间中的叙事

空间中的叙事是艾默格林与德拉塞特艺术创作的又一关键词。两人在2009年第53届威尼斯双年展上的创作是以收藏家为主题,将挪威馆塑造成一个后古典主义与典型北欧实用主义结合风格的家居环境,把丹麦馆打造成一个颇有单身汉意味的生活场所。房子中的柜子、灯具、钢琴、家族照片等都经过精心布置。正如一个房间的布置可以很大程度上看出主人的社会身份,作品成为故事的背景,成为叙事中重要的部分。张贴出杜撰的故事背景,摒弃常用的电影手段让观众自行想象细节,实际上延伸了艺术展览。

空间转化与观众行为

空间转化意味着语境变化,艾默格林与德拉塞特尤其强调内部环境的改变如何影响人们行为的改变,他们认为一件作品不具有完全的普适价值,而是在不同的场所被赋予不同的意义,甚至会有不同的名字。艾默格林与德拉塞特回顾了2015年在韩国首尔三星美术馆的千高原机场这件作品,二人把机场搬进美术馆,建构一个通用航站楼的形式,甚至建了一个机场免税礼品店,人们在观看时候的情绪和动作都会赋予作品新的意义。与人们去博物馆参观墙上悬挂的《蒙娜丽莎》不同,观众的行为在此也构成了作品的一部分。

“好博The Well Fair)是即将于UCCA开幕的展览,关于为什么会诞生虚拟艺博会的想法,二人首先表示足够开阔的展览场地是很好的条件,那么,为什么不做一个虚构的艺博会呢?

德拉塞特谈到自己在参加艺博会的时候一直思考的问题,即艺术作品对艺术家的重要性不言而喻,那么作品作为一种大众商品在艺术节上展示,其价值在艺术家眼中和在大众眼中的差异是十分有趣的。此外,他希望通过这一作品讨论艺术家在艺术市场中的位置和处境,以及艺术家与藏家、艺术家与观众的关系。艾默格林解释道,艺术市场的排斥性仍然存在,例如所谓VIP休息室和重量级收藏家等规矩。而本次展览上的虚构VIP休息室,因为并不存在,所以对所有人都是一样的。

The Welfare Show

在不同的分割空间里营造不同的氛围,其实是质疑艺博会这种模式和结构以及美术馆选择作品的标准。这次展览也呼应了十年前在伦敦的蛇形画廊(及其他地点)举办的展览福利秀2006年的福利秀,是对北欧福利体系的一种拆解,与报纸、政治家在福利相关问题上的表达是不一样的。在福利秀的展览现场,不同的房间组成一个生态系统。而在这次好博的现场,不同的鱼骨网格空间同样是对艺博会这个生态的拼合虚构。

提问环节中,被问及是什么一直维持两人的合作关系时,艾默格林与德拉塞特回应说,二人之间还存在第三个虚拟的人,这个人的模样和性格他们都十分了解,第三人的存在平衡了这种二元关系。他们认为工作和生活不相混淆是一个不错的选择,工作的关系更需要一种灵魂伴侣的状态。

Article I

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
