2017年11月至12月,一场国际化的科技艺术学术、教育峰会和科技企业实践交流
2017年11月7日至12月7日,中央美术学院首届“EAST-科技艺术季”邀请来自英国、加拿大、德国、澳大利亚、荷兰以及中国海峡两岸暨港澳地区的顶尖大学、艺术院校、艺术机构、科研机构和创新企业,通过两个顶级学术会议、三个国际工作坊、系列重磅跨界讲座,展开一场头脑风暴,探讨技术与创造的关系,既包含丰富深刻的理论探讨,又引入直接的产业实践交流。
本次科技艺术季标志着中央美术学院面向未来发展,注重科学技术与艺术深度融合的“EAST”战略(Education, Art, Science and Technology)的正式启动。该战略依托中央美术学院视觉艺术高精尖创新中心,旨在建立全球顶尖科技艺术创新平台。本届科技艺术季正是该平台推出的首次盛事。
EAST-科技艺术季由中央美术学院主办,中央美术学院视觉艺术高精尖创新中心承办,中央美术学院美术馆协办。
与会者济济一堂
英国皇家艺术学院、芝加哥艺术学院、清华大学等开设有科技艺术专业的顶级学院和卡尔斯鲁厄艺术媒体中心(ZKM)、V2和SymbioticA等著名科技艺术机构;腾讯、北斗天绘、现代汽车、HTC、传送科技、赛宾科技、山水文园、十方创投等居于时代前沿的科技和投资企业;Roy Ascott、Eduardo Kac等科技艺术先驱,严加安、刘嘉麒、滕吉文等中国科学院院士和顶级科学家,以《北京折叠》获得雨果奖的科幻作家郝景芳。
11月25日至11月26日,第20届国际“意识重塑”研讨会(Consciousness Reframed Conference)在中央美术学院举行。首届研讨会由新媒体艺术先驱、林兹电子艺术节首个终身成就奖金尼克奖获得者Roy Ascott开办于1997年,围绕艺术、科学、技术和意识四个领域进行跨学科的探索,与来自全球的艺术家、设计师、表演家、音乐家、作家、科学家、研究专家及学者,展示并交流国际尖端专业研究及前瞻意识。会议曾在澳大利亚、奥地利、中国、英格兰、埃及、德国、希腊、挪威、葡萄牙以及威尔士等多个国家成功举办,往届论文被知名学术数据库收录。
11月29日至30日,由中央美术学院发起的EAST-科技艺术教育国际大会,邀请知名学者进行演讲。与会者来自近20所世界顶级学院、艺术机构。大会主题从科技艺术的历史未来叙事,到生物艺术、材料艺术等科学细分案例,带来想象力与创造力的盛宴。
EAST-科技艺术教育国际大会设置11月30日全天举办的企业创新论坛,在这个论坛上,众多顶尖科技和投资企业介绍最前沿的动态,涉及生物技术、人工智能、新材料、虚拟现实等领域,总结科技与艺术界的合作经验,畅谈愿景构想,展开碰撞与交流。论坛着力打通人才链和产业链,并由应用需求结合研发支持,导出解决方案,同时展开广泛的教学合作。
三个国际级别的艺术工作坊
11月21日至11月27日 由Roy Ascott 创立的星球学院(Planetary Collegium)博士教学课程在中央美术学院举行,探讨当下科技艺术教与学的新型模式。
12月2日至4日,材料艺术工作坊由麻省理工学院媒体实验室(MIT Media Lab)下设的可触界面研究组 (Tangible Media Group)团队开展,通过将动态的物质实体形式和数字信息无缝连接,探究新的创作可能性。
12月5日至7日,生物艺术工作坊邀Eduardo Kac团队,指导美院学生尝试将生物材料和技术使用于艺术实践这一国际新趋势。
高含金量的系列重磅跨界讲座
讲座嘉宾包括中国科学界的顶级学者,如严加安、滕吉文、刘嘉麟等中国科学院院士和一系列前沿领域的科学家;以《北京折叠》获得雨果奖的科幻作家郝景芳;威尼斯双年展2017年韩国馆策展人,韩国现代汽车集团的艺术总监李大衡等行业先锋。开幕讲座由著名的媒体艺术理论家,纽约城市大学教授Lev Manovich主讲,座无虚席,反响热烈。

EAST-科技艺术季标志着EAST战略的正式启动,在业界及全社会引发了巨大反响。将来,EAST-科技艺术季将作为一年一度的系列盛事,成为北京市著名的文化品牌。
中央美术学院视觉艺术高精尖创新中心
CAFA Visual Art Innovation Institute
中央美术学院视觉艺术高精尖创新中心是2015年首批入选北京高等学校高精尖创新中心的院校,也是13所高校中唯一的一家艺术高校。该中心采用“跨学科、跨领域”的创新机制,在这个平台上可以突破原有科研机制和教学机制的瓶颈,更多地探索一种符合时代发展的、朝向未来的“研、学、产”相联动的机制,构建面向科学前沿、文化传承创新、行业产业以及区域发展重大需求的四类协同创新模式,建构两个“1+4”模式,其目标一是打造北京视觉文化系统、提升北京视觉文化形象,并融入北京市的文化发展战略;二是以“视觉北京”为蓝本,引进国际知名大师,带动北京相关专业高校的“研、学、产”建设。在内容上,包括4个板块:“空间北京”、“图像北京”、“时尚北京”和“生活北京”;在组织和架构上,由中央美术学院牵头并搭建“研、学、产”平台,带动北京工业大学、北京建筑大学、北京电影学院、北京服装学院4所北京市属高校实现资源共享。

CAFA Art Museum Publication Authorization Agreement
I fully agree to CAFA Art Museum (CAFAM) submitting to CAFA for publication the images, pictures, texts, writings, and event products (such as works created during participation in workshops) related to me from my participation in public events (including museum member events) organized by the CAFA Art Museum Public Education Department. CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.
CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer
Article I
This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.
Article II
Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.
Article III
Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.
Article IV
Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.
Article V
During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.
Article VI
Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
