2011年8月19日10:30,由中央美术学院主办、中央美术学院美术馆承办、广州华艺廊协办的“凝固的激情·李宗津艺术回顾展”在中央美术学院美术馆隆重开幕,大型画集《凝固的激情·李宗津1916-1977》同期举行首发式。本次展览由中央美术学院副院长徐冰作学术指导,中山大学教授杨小彦和中央美术学院美术馆馆长王璜生合力策划,这是继1978年举行的李宗津遗作展(中央美术学院陈列馆)和1997年举行的李宗津画展(香港大学美术博物馆)之后,又一次对李宗津艺术进行的全方位回顾、研究与展示。本次展览共展出李宗津作品达250余件,其规模之大、作品之多之全、研究之深、影响之广,是以往展览所不及的。
开幕式由中央美术学院美术馆馆长王璜生主持,出席嘉宾有中国文联副主席、全国政协常委、中国美术家协会名誉主席、中央美术学院博士生导师、学术委员会名誉主任靳尚谊教授、中央美术学院潘公凯院长、中国美术馆范迪安馆长、故宫博物院李文儒副院长、中央美术学院侯一民教授、北京电影学院葛维墨教授、李宗津先生之子李之林先生、李宗津先生之女李之清女士、中央美术学院徐冰副院长、北京鲁迅博物馆黄乔生副馆长、中山大学杨小彦教授、广州嘉德总裁李亦非先生。潘公凯院长、靳尚谊教授、侯一民教授、李之林先生、杨小彦教授先后致辞,随后进行了隆重的剪彩仪式。
李宗津1916年出生于书香门第,其祖父、叔祖、父亲、叔父、长兄也都是文人、画家、专家。李宗津1934年就读于苏州美专,师从颜文樑、李毅士、吕斯百、戴秉心等学习油画。他曾先后供职于北平艺专、清华大学、中央美术学院、北京电影学院。他不仅参与了新中国国徽的设计工作,还是人民英雄纪念碑的设计者之一。《平民食堂》、《强夺泸定桥》、《东方红》、《夜谈》、《鞍钢的黎明》等油画作品备受世人赞誉。他的人品和艺术才能得到了徐悲鸿和江丰的赏识,在1957年被打成“右派”之前,曾一时为美术界的风云人物。徐悲鸿曾称其为“中国第一肖像画家”,江丰与其是意趣相投、终生相伴的好友。“反右”、“文革”、“黑线回潮”、癌症等政治风波和人生灾难,让李宗津备受迫害和痛苦,多次搁笔。但是,今天我们重新回望李宗津1957-1977年这二十年的光阴,再次欣赏他留下的大量作品时,不禁要对李宗津及那一代受过不寻常遭遇的知识分子艺术家那种对艺术的执着追求,深表敬意。
策展人杨小彦和王璜生在组织策划本此展览的过程中,一方面仔细研读李宗津留下的大量作品和资料,另一方面积极采访当年与李宗津先生同事及同学过的先生们,如靳尚谊、侯一民、葛维墨等。采用了作品、史料、专访、回忆相结合的策展理念,深入剖析了李宗津及其艺术创作,将整个展览分为自画像、领袖像、创作、家人、友人、肖像、景物七个单元,外加历史资料和文献版块,使得整个展览既可观又可读。“自画像”似是李宗津的一种自我证明;《强夺泸定桥》等历史画创作更体现了新中国美术创作的特征;“领袖像”创作贯穿了李宗津的一生,对研究毛泽东图像的特点、创作思维的过程,以及艺术家的文化心理等,具有特殊的意义;“家人画像“是李宗津得以喘息的凭借,展现了画家的真性情;从李宗津的友人和肖像画创作中,我们感慨他确是新中国成立初期最优秀的肖像画家之一,正所谓“何年更得丹青手,画出风流此代人。”“风景画”如《北海风情》、《小城门》等展示了他对色彩的理解,对景、象、物的表达,尤其是对外光效果的把握。通过史料和文献,我们发现李宗津还是一位重要的美术教育家。
李宗津的为人和画艺得到了大家的一致肯定。靳尚谊先生在访谈中说:看李宗津的作品和现在人的作品有很多不同的地方,因为他们那一辈人画得都很认真、质朴和真诚,这点是现在的作品无法相比的。侯一民先生评价李宗津是一个好人、好画家,认为李宗津的遗嘱体现了中国知识分子的那一份忠贞。葛维墨先生至今提到李宗津的去世,仍旧难掩悲痛。通过其子李之林的回忆,我们了解到李宗津对自己艺术的评价:论素描功夫,他是好的,但他不如董希文。其女儿李之清提到李宗津在1975年癌症扩散、疼痛难忍的情况下,仍旧坚持重画《强夺泸定桥》。因此,对李宗津来说,不能继续工作,是他最痛苦的事。学术指导徐冰也在《画面的遗憾已减到最小,可以放手了……》这篇文章中回忆了当年《强夺泸定桥》就悬挂在李宗津床榻旁边的墙壁上,李宗津坚持反复修改画作的往事。这件事情对徐冰触动很大,使他至今念念不忘。策展人王璜生在李宗津的身上看到了中国知识分子的那种执着、真诚、活跃、谦虚、本分、天真、坦荡、泰然、体恤、理性、充满责任感等等的特质及品格,认为正是这样的特质和品格,使得这样的知识分子在一个复杂多变的人与人斗的社会现实中,茫然无措而天真地想守护住心中的一点尊严,艰难而坚定地迈向自己的生命归宿。策展人杨小彦在检索李宗津当年的油画创作后,不得不承认,在描绘与色调这两方面,李宗津都是上乘的。李宗津在激情、责任、人格、专业精神等与人际、社会、病魔、命运的不平衡的对抗中贡献了他的才智,完善着他的品格,实践了他的不平凡的人生。
希望通过这次展览的组织策划、相关文献资料的整理、出版等工作,表达我们对李宗津先生及这一代不寻常遭遇的知识分子的敬意;希望通过李宗津那不幸的人生,更通过他留存下来的不多的艺术作品,引发学术界及社会对这位没有得到应有重视的艺术家的关注;希望通过这个展览,后人一直都能怀念艺术家李宗津。因为他丰富的作品及作品背后隐含的内容是那个历史阶段美术史、文化史的一个重要研究和挖掘的对象。

If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.
Article VI
Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer.
