设计的善意 善意的“为坐而设计”
——第五届“为坐而设计”大奖赛•暨“50把椅子”国际知名设计师作品邀请展开幕

法国社会学家列斐伏尔提出过这样一个激动人心的口号:“让生活变成一件艺术品”。这应该是给设计师们提供了一个无限发挥自己想象力的空间,设计界涵盖了日常生活和非日常生活的各个领域;而“为坐而设计”是为了“坐”,为了“椅子”、“凳子”。。。。。。让设计师们展开他们自由的创作,从而进入大赛的角逐。

2011年12月11日,第五届“为坐而设计”国际赛展暨国际知名设计师作品邀请展“50把椅子”在中央美术学院美术馆展出。在展览开幕的前一天,由阵容强大的大赛评委组对最终进入决赛的166件作品进行投票、评选,大赛评委依然是阵容强大,除了评委主席德国著名的设计界权威威尔克.阿布斯Vilker Albus教授(德国卡尔斯鲁厄国立造型艺术学院教授)外,同时请到的国内外设计界专家、教授有:中央美术学院教授谭平、英国中央圣马丁艺术与设计学院的教授本杰明.休斯Benjamin Hughes、日本东京艺术大学的教授三田村有纯Mitamura Arisumi、英国零碳工厂建筑事务所的董事长兼总设计师比尔.邓斯特Bill Dunster、香港理工大学教授 林衍堂、澳珀家具总裁兼首席设计师朱小杰、红专厂文化艺术机构的厂长兼艺术总监黄丽诗女士、清华大学美术学院石振宇教授、北京清尚建筑设计院的董事长吴唏。此次活动的总策划人江黎教授同时担任大赛评委,十年来(每两年一办),“为坐而设计”在展赛中提倡的是对生活方式和人的行为的思考,先后有“绿色设计”,“户外与公共空间设计”等主题设定,本次大赛主题是“坐与其他行为”,将设计师的视点拉回到人与物的关系本体中,深入研究人在生活中两种或两种以上的行为对设计的影响,即:既要满足“坐”的行为要求,同时还伴随工作、学习、游戏、娱乐、移动、运动、睡觉、休息……将这些行为的实现构建在“坐”的基础上。从最开始第1届30件作品参评,发展到今天,大赛共收到了来自世界各地共六百多件参赛作品。参赛者来自中国大陆、港澳台以及德国、美国等不同国家和地区。经过第一轮初选,其中的166件作品参加最终的作品评奖。不仅参赛人数超过历届数量,参展的设计师也来自世界不同的国家和地区,超过以往的规模。 最终经过专家和大师的评选,有15件作品获得大奖。

展览当天的新闻发布会上,由中央美术学院美术馆馆长王璜生主持,他表示希望能有多一些的商家不完全为了赢利的目的来支持新锐的设计师,彼此间可以建立一个长期合作的关系,等待和培养出更多优秀成熟的设计佳作。之后,开幕式正式开始,中央美术学院副院长谭平教授主持,他介绍了活动情况及到场嘉宾;接着,中央美术学院院长潘公凯为展览致辞,他认为此次活动的最大优点在于一直贯穿了原创精神,虽然很多日常用品已经有了优秀的设计,但是不代表就可以不再有新的设计了,小小的椅子也可以发挥其原创精神,原创精神是可以持续下去的。主办方领导、赞助商代表、评委主席分别发言后,开始颁奖的环节:首先由许老师宣布最佳组织奖,并且由潘院长颁奖给了获得该奖项的清华大学美术学院、广州美术学院及中央美术学院城市设计学院;然后策展人江黎教授公布了获奖设计师的名单,由许平教授邀请嘉宾为设计师们颁奖,嘉宾包括了:卡尔斯鲁厄国立艺术与设计学院副院长阿布斯教授、中央美术学院美术馆馆长王璜生先生、意大利MOLTENI&C蒙太尼亚洲总代表马克思先生、香港理工大学设计学院院长林衍堂教授、中央美术学院城市设计学院副院长徐仲偶教授、意大利使馆文化参赞裴纳乔先生、澳珀家具总裁朱小杰先、北京工业设计促进会副理事长宋慰祖先生、将台艺宫酒店董事长梁玉树先生、香港创意设计教育基金会会长韦政先生、清华清尚环艺建筑设计院董事长吴晞先生、丰意德工贸有限公司董事长安钟岩女士、中央美术学院设计学院院长王敏院长及广州红专厂厂长黄丽诗女士;本届设立的奖项有:金奖1名、银奖2名、铜奖3名、优秀设计奖5名、最佳制作奖2名、最佳创意奖1名、红专厂设计奖1名。其中来自广州美术学院的设计师杨万里和黄露莎设计的《小小搬运工》摘得金奖;另外获得最佳制作奖之一的《爱•绽放》被江黎老师视为个人心仪之作。

从2005年第三届开始同期策划了国际知名设计师作品邀请展,从“30把椅子”到第四届邀请了“40把椅子”。前几届邀请展不仅得到克拉尼、原研哉、喜多俊之、库卡波罗等国际大师的关注和支持,在2007年还曾经与世界著名设计品牌“DROOG”同台对展,得到来自世界设计同行的高度评价。本届由设计师李永玲主持策划的“50把椅子”邀请展同样也得到了来自世界各地的著名设计大师支持,征集到了包括菲利普.斯塔克(法国)、汤姆.鲁斯(美国)、喜多俊之(日本)、黑川雅之(日本)、阿布斯(德国)、Paolo Rizzatto(意大利)等国际著名大师的作品,其中,很多国内外大师的作品都是在本次邀请展上初次亮相。与往届比较,本届邀请展得到更多国内实力派设计师支持,石振宇、邵帆、朱小杰、石大宇、师建民、包泡、傅中望、李清贤等知名设计师与艺术家的作品将成为本次展览中业界与媒体关注的亮点。

除了这些令人瞩目的嘉宾外,最吸引眼球的应该是小朋友们了,他们开心地在一些为孩子特别设计的椅子中穿梭,留恋不舍,想必这应该是对设计师最生动的肯定吧。

下午的学术讲座在设计学院的红椅报告厅举行,讲座内容分别为:香港理工大学设计学院院长林衍堂教授的《中国新一代设计的定位》、德国卡尔斯鲁厄国立大学艺术与设计学院副院长Alus教授的《德国卡尔鲁斯厄学院设计》及日本东京艺术大学的三田村有纯教授的《欧洲-中国-日本》。

所有的学术会议结束后,东道主中央美术学院设计学院将专家、嘉宾、艺术家送往充满设计语言的瑞居酒店进行晚餐,大家在晚宴上继续交流畅谈,让“为坐而设计”更亲切地深入人心。

CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer

Article I

This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.

Article II

Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.

Article III

Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.

Article IV

Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.

Article V

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
