发现与钩沉:我馆召开江丰百年纪念座谈会

2012年1月6日上午九点半,“江丰百年纪念座谈会”在我馆多功能会议室召开。本次座谈会由中央美术学院、中国美术家协会与中国美术馆联合主办,是正在我馆展出的“发现:百年江丰文献展”的重要学术活动。中央美术学院院长潘公凯,中国美术馆馆长范迪安,中国美术家协会常务副主席吴长江,中国美术家协会副主席常沙娜,中国美术家协会年画艺术委员会主任冯真,中央美术学院教授邵大箴、杜键、金维诺、王宏建、闻立鹏、李树声、袁运生、杨先让、庞壔、汤池、王璜生、殷双喜、余丁、王工,清华大学美术学院教授陈瑞林,北京大学教授朱青生,国家画院美术研究院研究员张晨,赵昔先生,评论家刘曦林,油画家陈丹青等三十余位美术理论家及老先生出席了座谈会,并在会上从多角度对江丰的生平、艺术价值、艺术教育等进行了阐释和分析。

江丰(1910-1982),1931 年参加鲁迅倡导的新兴版画运动,曾任中国左翼美术家联盟执委。1949 年后,当选为中华全国美术工作者协会副主席、中国美术家协会副主席,历任中央美术学院华东分院副院长、中央美术学院副院长、代院长。1957 年被错划为右派。1979 年复出,任中国美术家协会主席、中央美术学院院长、文化部顾问。

座谈会上的发言主要围绕以下几个方面展开:肯定江丰在新中国美术教育上的重要意义;回顾江丰对中国一些重要艺术机构,例如中国美术馆、中国美术家协会、中央工艺美术学院等机构的奠基作用;一些学者还对江丰在木刻艺术上的先驱性给予极高评价;同时,秉承展览主题“发现”二字,在发言和讨论中,通过一些生动的故事、对江丰性格品德的真切描述、江丰被错化右派的始末与愤然等,试图“发现”出一个完整的江丰形象。

潘公凯院长首先发言,他认为江丰在新中国美术史和美术教育上有着重要作用。是新中国美术开创时期起到的重要人物。无论从哪一个方面来说,江丰都是美术史上绕不开的一个名字。对江丰的研讨,不仅是对他的怀念,也是对新中国美术史的重要梳理。通过文献资料的展示以及座谈会的讨论,把江丰还原到当时的时代背景,有助于我们进一步理解新中国的美术史,进一步客观地评价新中国美术史。殷双喜、金维诺分别具体谈及了江丰在美术教育上所做的重要工作,殷双喜着重梳理了江丰对新中国画改革的主张,金维诺回忆了50年代在江丰的建议下筹建我院美术史系的始末。
 
 

范迪安与刘曦林在发言中总结了江丰1961年来到中国美术馆后在收藏与陈列方面所做的工作,这些具有前瞻性的举措让中国美术馆在民间美术与版画的收藏上走在前头;吴长江在发言中认为江丰是杰出的美术组织机构的领导者,是美术家协会的重要创办人之一,正是江丰的教导和建议,美协才日渐重视培养少数民族艺术家及青年艺术家。常沙娜称江丰是中央工艺美术学院的积极组织者,他重视实用美术,为中央工艺美术学院的建立打下了非常坚实的基础。

杨先让谈到了自己看到江丰版画作品的感受,他觉得这些来源于生活实践的作品好的让他惭愧。油画家陈丹青也在发言中大力称赞江丰的木刻版画,他认为这些版画中包含左翼最珍贵、最疯狂的力量。陈丹青还对“发现:百年江丰文献展”中展出的一幅作品印象深刻,让他甚至想用油画的方式去临摹它。
 
 
 
 
 
 

庞壔、赵昔、汤池、冯真、袁运生等老先生在发言中回忆了当年与江丰先生交往的一些旧事,在这些故事中,江丰先生人格纯粹、乐于助人,始终保持着自信、不改变自己的人生态度,他爱自己的学生与自己的艺术事业,即便在被错化成右派后,也依然秉持着坚定的艺术理想。回忆起这样一位品德高尚的人的悲壮人生,让在场的很多人唏嘘不已。

江丰被错化右派的这段历史,在座谈会上也被不少先生与学者重提和评价。王工回忆了当年与江丰先生的几次谈话,虽然江丰被错化,但他从没有把自己当成右派。杜键称革命是有条件的,当革命要开始的时候,其实应思考文化是否已经做好准备。

另外,“发现:百年江丰文献展”的策展人余丁也在座谈会中分享了自己策划这个展览的始末与一些经验,他采用了一种比较特别展陈方式,把文献与作品交错互换,把江丰文献档案当作品展陈,把相关作品作为辅助文献。至于展览中展出的大量档案,他认为这些绝不仅仅是“一堆故纸”,不是只代表记忆、只为了研究历史和总结过去而存的档案,而是连接视觉艺术与其他学科知识的策略,使艺术作品跨越了美术史修辞的限制。
 
 
 

座谈会持续了一整日,于1月6日晚结束。大家在会上对江丰本人及其艺术人生的平实回忆、真诚评价和客观分析,引发了阵阵热烈的讨论,不少老先生还在回忆中激动的热泪盈眶。殷双喜教授在结束辞中说,这次的座谈是对江丰研究的开始。相信通过对资料档案的钩沉,日后将会“发现”出一个完整的江丰形象。

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
