The Wide-Angle ° Youth Experimental Project Space serves as an experimental platform for young CAFA faculty to present their curatorial practices and creative works. Through diverse exhibition projects, it aims to support and encourage young faculty and students to actively engage with interdisciplinary collaboration, regional cultural research, and traditional Chinese culture.
Jointly organized by the CAFA Art Museum, the Faculty Affairs Office (Human Resources Department), and the Faculty Development Center of Central Academy of Fine Arts, the project invites young teachers to propose and implement experimental exhibition programs. Over the past two years, Wide-Angle ° has completed four rounds of open calls and selections, with a total of 22 exhibition proposals selected.

Review Session of Exhibition ProposalsWide‑Angle ° Youth Experimental Project Space, Phase IV
The name “Wide‑Angle °” carries two meanings. First, it echoes “Acute Angle”, another curatorial development program located in another public space on the ground floor of the Art Museum. It connects the two spaces within the museum through young curatorial practice, presenting the academy’s latest achievements in curatorial education and practice to the public.Second, it corresponds to the expanding intellectual breadth demonstrated by young faculty in their creation and teaching. Among the selected projects in the first four phases, many have expanded cross‑media practice, creative methodologies, and approaches to art education.
In the Art Museum’s future development plan and the Faculty Affairs Office’s Young Faculty Seed Program, Wide‑Angle ° will serve as a starting point. It will extend along two paths: art education within the academy and dissemination of public art education to society. It will demonstrate the dialogue between youth and the contemporary context, activate connections between young people and traditional culture, and inspire encounters between youth and broader possibilities. We look forward to young CAFA faculty presenting their talent and creativity here through individual or group proposals.

This project is open to all young faculty members of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Two types of proposals are solicited, covering exhibition curation and artistic creation. We expect these proposals to reflect the spirit of collaboration, youthful creativity, and bold exploration in artistic language. Selected projects will receive a grant of 40,000 RMB for implementation.
