中央美术学院首届CAFAM未来展新闻发布会在中央美术学院美术馆举行
——“首届CAFAM未来展:亚现象•中国青年艺术生态报告”即将开启
2012年7月22日下午2点,由中央美术学院发起、中央美术学院美术馆策划主办的首届CAFAM未来展新闻发布会在中央美术学院美术馆隆重举行。
“首届CAFAM未来展:亚现象•中国青年艺术生态报告”即将于8月8日在中央美院美术馆开幕,总顾问潘公凯,总策划徐冰、亚历山大•孟璐(Alexandra Munroe•美国)及策划团队王璜生、冯博一、王春辰、蔡萌共同担纲。展览将带来大陆和港澳台两岸三地的93位青年艺术家的近200件作品,意在对当今青年艺术生态做田野式考察,重点考察新生代艺术家在今天的全球语境、文化格局、生产方式之下属于这一代人特有的“艺术方式”。
中央美院美术馆馆长王璜生教授、本次展览的策展人之一冯博一先生、副馆长唐斌博士、学术部蔡萌博士出席了新闻发布会并致辞,学术部副主任王春辰博士担任主持。展览总策划徐冰副院长原定出席此次的新闻发布会,但因飞机误点原因未能出席。
王璜生馆长在发言中说中央美院美术馆常规性的大型品牌展览的安排将按照一年“CAFAM双年展”;一年“CAFAM未来展”的节奏进行,也就是2年1次地对中国青年艺术的考察,推动青年艺术家走进社会、走向国际。中央美院是培养未来一代的学术教育机构,年轻的艺术学子走出校园成为社会的中坚,其间的历程和状态一直是中央美院所关注的。谈到展览组织结构的特点,此次提名委员会由80位来自国际国内的重要美术馆馆长、批评家、策展人、艺术家、艺术媒体和机构负责人构成,采取实名提名的方式,并要求提供提名辞。王璜生馆长说:“我们根据结果完成了《提名集》,收录了青年艺术家的简历、提名辞、作品图片、个人网站、微博等信息,我们对《提名集》充满信心,是一个很好的文本。”接着王璜生馆长介绍了展览机制、展览特点、展览架构,阐释了“蔓生长”、“自媒体”、“微抵抗”、“宅空间”、“浅生活”、“未知数”6个现象单元。
王璜生馆长说:“我们策展的关键在于从学术的分析、学理的研究方面对青年艺术现象进行呈现,进行相关的表述。展览的重点不是在于对入选艺术家的推荐,我们的展览更多地建立在考察‘树林’的基础上,我们在研究‘树林’的生态,体现当下中国青年艺术的‘树林’,我们挑选了‘树种’去呈现‘树林’的总体生态,反过来,我们也根据‘树林’的发展状态研究‘土壤’问题。”这是这个展览有别于其它很多展览的最重要的一点。
王璜生馆长表示展览还将伴有一系列的学术活动,讲谈“亚文化”、中外青年艺术家对谈艺术之外的思考、还将会有徐冰对话“未来艺术家”、王璜生对话“未来策展人”、并有机会聆听南条史生(日本森美术馆馆长)、亚历山大•孟璐(古根海姆美术馆亚洲部主任策展人)、汉斯•奥布莱斯特(Hans Ulrich Obrist,英国蛇形画廊艺术总监)、理查德•维恩(Richard Vine《美国艺术评论》主笔)的讲座。展览系列公教活动将举办日本著名工薪族收藏家宫津大辅 (Daisuke Miyatsu )讲座和艺术家驻留计划交流活动。
在发言的最后,王璜生馆长对提名委员会、参展艺术家、展览团队、协办单位北京福展洲文化艺术发展有限公司、海南白马广告投资有限公司北京分公司、广州国际单位当代艺术中心、广西师范大学出版社、赞助单位时代地产和支持单位表示感谢。
冯博一先生在发言中说:“在我印象中,由中央美院美术馆举办这样一个代表大中国概念的展览还是第一次。”冯先生回顾了繁杂、辛苦的策展过程。冯先生说:“正像王璜生馆长谈到的,展览更多的看重艺术家生态的整体情况,不仅是艺术的态度,也包括艺术家的生活方式、喜欢什么衣服、喜欢什么收藏……审美趣味是怎样的以及最终的艺术表达方式。仅仅从作品本身来看待艺术家变得老套了,现在年轻人的生存状态是多维的、立体的、不断丰富化的状态。”
唐斌副馆长在发言中说CAFAM未来展秉承了中央美院美术馆一贯的严谨的治学和工作态度,体现了开阔的学术视野和开放的研究氛围。未来展项目将会成为中央美院美术馆一个新的品牌不断完善和优化下去。
蔡萌博士在发言中与大家分享了策展过程中的体会,策展团队的讨论、决议、通过Email的交流……蔡萌博士也谈到参展艺术家的生活状态和创作状态。
当天的新闻发布会吸引了电视台、报纸、杂志、网络等近40家媒体参加,嘉宾的一一陈述赢得现场热烈的掌声。在媒体互动环节,《艺术眼》、《新京报》、《Hi艺术》、《艺讯网》……提问踊跃。
问:一些评论家不约而同地在艺术机构的支持下做青年艺术家文献的撰写和出版工作,请问是什么现象促使你们做这样一个展览?
王春辰:这个时代是一个转型,人们有一种新的期待。中国社会变化节奏非常快,每年全国各地的毕业生进入到艺术队伍的人非常多,我们看一下北京的艺术场所就会感觉到有多少艺术家在这里生存、在这里创作,形成一个气场、一个新的局面。这样一个状态不仅我们关注,其实社会不同阶层都在关注。每个人角度不一样,所以关注的视野不一样。青年艺术家有很多以自我为中心的状态,其实不完全是这样的。你会感觉到青年人有一种冲劲,有一种内在驱动力在驱使他们。为什么他们愿意放弃那么好的生活环境到北京很艰苦的环境做艺术呢,正是有这样的梦想。我们馆也是有梦想的一个机构,在王璜生馆长和院领导的支持下,中央美院美术馆不仅关注经典现代艺术、古典传统艺术,我们也关注当下发生的新的文化艺术,关注今天就是关注未来。
问:策展提名团队的年龄层是怎样的?如果年龄层比较中年层的话,怎么解决青年和中年知识、生活各方面断层的问题?
王璜生:问题提得挺好的。从提名委员会结构来讲,其实年轻批评家参与程度还是比较高的。另一点,体现不同年龄人对年轻艺术家的视角也许更有意思。
王春辰:年龄不会隔阂一个人对时代的感觉。
蔡萌:年轻艺术家对中国本土自身的传统开始重新认识,在艺术上有一种文化的自信。
问:6个单元的关系?界限清楚吗?顺序怎么排的?
王春辰:它们的关系不是一个序列或者一个逻辑关系,只是一个现象的点。
冯博一:没有界限,是碎片时代的视觉修辞。
问:这次展览采取提名的形式,这样一个机制可能会产生一个问题:如果一个艺术家不属于当代艺术系统中任何一个环节,或者说艺术圈链条上的人,是不是连进入海选的资格都没有了?
王璜生:我们也没有想过这个展览包罗万象,我们也有局限。
王春辰:从另外一个角度说,今天的艺术不是关在家里自己做给自己的,一定是跟社会有联系的,这才叫做生态。艺术家使自己被别人记住也是一门功课,需要自己努力的。
问:一年做CAFAM双年展,一年做CAFAM未来展,双年展与未来展的区别?
王璜生:双年展和未来展还是有很大区别。双年展更强调建构一个国际品牌和国际平台,更多地关注更为前沿的文化现象,并倾向更成熟的艺术家和国际性。

CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.
CAFA Art Museum Event Safety Disclaimer
Article I
This event was organized on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and voluntary participation and withdrawal. Participants undertake all risk and liability for themselves. All events have risks, and participants must be aware of the risks related to their chosen event.
Article II
Event participants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, as well as moral and ethical norms. All participants must demonstrate good character, respect for others, friendship, and a willingness to help others.
Article III
Event participants should be adults (people 18 years or older with full civil legal capacity). Underage persons must be accompanied by an adult.
Article IV
Event participants undertake all liability for their personal safety during the event, and event participants are encouraged to purchase personal safety insurance. Should an accident occur during an event, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for the accident, but both have the obligation to provide assistance. Event participants should actively organize and implement rescue efforts, but do not undertake any legal or economic liability for the accident itself. The museum does not undertake civil or joint liability for the personal safety of event participants.
Article V
During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.
Article VI
Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.
CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement
According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):
I. General Provisions
(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.
(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.
(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.
II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use
(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.
(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.
(3) Geographical Scope of Use
The applicable geographic scope is global.
The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).
III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use
Use in perpetuity.
IV. Licensing Fees
The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.
After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.
Additional Terms
(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.
(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.
(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.
Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
