朗西埃对话中国当代艺术界:当代艺术重汇聚

2013年5月13日下午14时,由《艺术时代》杂志社与尤伦斯当代艺术中心主办,中央美术学院美术馆协办的“朗西埃对话中国当代艺术界:当代艺术重汇聚”在中央美术学院美术馆学术报告厅举办。本场讲座延续5月12日在尤伦斯的“当代艺术时间”主题,法国哲学家雅克•朗西埃与多名中国艺术家及理论家一起探讨当代艺术的种种问题。

中央美院美术馆学术部蔡萌博士首先致辞,欢迎大家参与此次讲座,并邀请《艺术时代》主编康学儒先生介绍本场讲座。《艺术时代》编辑何迟担任主持,同济大学欧洲文化研究院副教授陆兴华先生担任翻译。

对话开始时,主持人何迟特别强调了朗西埃的“平等”这一观点,他希望这场讲座能够“以平等为起点,所有到场嘉宾都能在这一平等的基础上进行深入对话。

当代艺术的时间
在讲座开始,所有对话仍围绕着提问与回答的形式展开,朗西埃为各位嘉宾解答了一些关于当代艺术的时间性的问题。艺术家汪建伟率先提问,他指出既然当代艺术与现在并不共时也并不稳定,那么如何通过现有知识的修正使不稳定变得更稳定。朗西埃在回应中首先表示自己仅仅是一名闯入艺术界的人士,无论是作为哲学家或评论家,他认为我们必须要抛弃“现代主义”与“后现代主义”两种说法,更多的转向对人类本身的观察,这种“独特的时间”因此并不存在,他特别指出像艺术家陈界仁的《工厂》这件作品就体现了任何艺术的共时化倾向,这样的艺术是一种永久实验。

艺术论坛主编杨北辰接着提问,他认为当代艺术的时间既是预示性的也是回溯性的,因此当代艺术如何进步并与现代艺术作出区分?朗西埃指出,“当代”与“现代”仅仅是一个指称而已,这种预设的时间经常会吓倒我们自己,在现代艺术中,运动成为中心,而当代艺术中的时间往往被突出出来,因此出现了很多利用这一特点但并不成功的艺术作品。朗西埃还指出,如果说到现当代艺术的不同,现代艺术更关注个人,而当代艺术更注重创造形式并帮助我们质问:什么是正常时间?

汪建伟继续发言,他曾阅读到朗西埃的“喘息的时间”这一概念,认为非常有道理,这一事件的概念是否是对知识化的抵抗?朗西埃同意汪建伟的说法,但他认为自己更多关注的是当前的时间,现在艺术界中有很多作品会使用几年前的事故素材,这对观众来说产生了一个敏感——麻木——敏感的效果,也就是说,我们的这种情绪往往是轮番而来的,这就要求建立一个新的关于时间的框架。

革命与中国当代艺术

讲座的下半部分,嘉宾逐渐脱离了关于“时间”的对话,更加转向艺术本体与美学方面。学者铁鹰与杨北辰就“占领华尔街”事件向朗西埃提问,他们希望知道朗西埃是否认为这一运动在达成共识后会发生分歧,“感性的分配”又何以变得可行?朗西埃认为共识是正常主导的框架,它在表象上是事实,异感则是“同意对方的不同意”,无论是如何占领,这种“异感”已经产生并发挥效应。

汪建伟根据自己的经历指出,当一切在同一个环境展开,就同意让人丧失思考的可能性,这无论是在社会中还是当代艺术领域都是如此,我们占领的是对环境的忠诚。朗西埃认为我们首先要理解“平等”的含义,对这一领域的每个人而言,我们都是从同一智力水平出发,表现不同而已,无论是艺术、理论还是哲学,他们都是“研究”,在法语中,这个词代表“寻找”,因此它就使未知与已知相联。朗西埃认为无论当下环境如何,我们依旧要不停地“寻找”。

艺术家吴小军与何迟就是否还有革命以及“文化大革命”的可能性提问。朗西埃认为所有的革命都是从一无所有的状态而来的,当我们认识到“我在这里,我们在一起,我们要呆在这里”时,革命的基础就形成了,因此未来的革命并非没有可能性。而至于艺术领域的“文革”,朗西埃表示并不指要发动运动,而是从自己做起,放弃自己专家的位置,进入无知者的地位。陆兴华表示他所认同的艺术领域的“文革”应当是革“已知的贫乏”,革“算计合法化”的“学术”。

提问与讨论
讲座的最后,台下观众粉粉向朗西埃提出问题。有人认为在共同体内部维持一个统一的审美很难,那么如何去维持它?朗西埃指出,我们不能将共同体等同于简单的集合,他应当是形式、话语、图像的集合,所有东西都是非个人化的,我们要打破结构的可见性,打破主流并对之重构,一个共同体首先存在在我们体内。

另一位同学对意识形态、革命与异见的关系提出问题,朗西埃认为我们很难正确理解身边的环境,这就造成对自我认识的误导,人之所以无法反抗主要是以为自己难以理解社会结构,因此我们就要思考一个关于如何跳出自己身份可能性的问题。他举了一个关于工人自我寻找休闲时间的例子,他认为这就是“异见”的开始,工人们重组自己的时间,解放了单一的身份。

由于时间关系,各位嘉宾纷纷作出对本场讲座的总结,讲座也就此结束。

雅克•朗西埃的研究跨越哲学、文学、艺术、电影等多个领域,早年即与阿尔都塞合著《读资本论》(Lire le Capital,1965),90年代开始专注于美学-政治的研究,提出“歧感”(Mésentente),主要著作有《歧义:政治与哲学》、《政治的边缘》等。近十余年,朗西埃的作品成为重新思考政治与美学关系的重要资源,他成为继福柯和德里达之后的重要思想家。

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
