”研展的延展“是来自我馆馆员们的策展实验,是以2014届中央美术学院硕博毕业生作品为基础,结合我馆收藏的往届毕业生作品,由我馆的馆员们自主策划的单元式主题展览。整个展览由11个小单元组成,每个单元围绕1个话题,由1位或1组馆员策划。各个单元的话题都来自于策展人对这些毕业生作品的观察、分析、梳理与提炼。如今这11个单元已经在美术馆的3层展厅亮相给公众,以下是11个单元的图文介绍:

小趣味:不仅仅是为了毕业/ Small Pleasure: Not Just to Graduate

每个人生来都有某种天然的“小趣味”,只是后来的教育把这些最真实的,发自内心的“小趣味”逐渐磨灭和掩盖了。

在我看来,“小趣味”并不意味着一种“低幼化”和“逆生长”状况,也不仅仅是体现为一种日常生活中的行为方式;它更多呈现出青年艺术家们的生活状态、态度与立场,以及一种体现在细微处的审美控制、观察方式和思想方法。

个人与个人之外的/ Spread Beyond Individual

展览中的作品以个人视角和极具个性的艺术语言诉说着关于自我和存在的终极关怀。媒介是手段、是材料,是语言,也是倾诉的对象。作品在艺术语言与影像语言的转换对接中体现自我观念的转变,通过对传统思维和表现模式的解构,建立起自身的影像语汇和形式。引领观者进入作者创造的艺术场域之中。

玩味城市/ Play With City
策展:高高/ Curator: GAO Gao

与城市一起生长的我们,如何觉察与回应城市带给我们的影响?本单元的艺术家皆选取他们生活经验中最为熟悉的主题“城市”为对象,将他们头脑中随着个人成长而积累下来的城市视觉记忆进行挑选和再造,在多角度的艺术训练的激发下,构建各自的艺术体系,探究各自的艺术问题。“玩味”一词,字面上看来颇有轻松随意之感,实则意为“细心研习从而体会其中意味”。这正如本单元中展出的作品,一眼望去是既不宏大叙事也不忧伤感怀的“小清新”,实则背后包含着严谨理性的构思、冷静耐心的反复尝试、以及经过这一过程洗礼后不露声色却更为深刻的个人情感。从中我们可以看到,这些年轻的艺术家流露出的自信而自主的态度,这些作品理智、淡然、自由和多元的面貌,一定程度上预示着我们未来中国城市精神的一个方面。

缺席的存在/ The Presence of Absence

有些东西始终存在,却空有其物;有些东西并不真实存在,却能够被感知。它们的缺席持续影响着我们,有时胜过存在本身的意义。越来越多的消耗品和信息源充盈着我们的日常生活,刺激着人们的占有欲及求知欲。而作为社会个体的我们是否确实如想象中那样得到满足,还是面临更大的危机与迷失?

我们的世界被纷繁复杂的事物充斥,但在这些表象的背后究竟存在着实体还是无物的缺席?其自身的主体性究竟何在?表象的符号取代主体本身,在虚拟和臆想之中,什么被掩盖?什么被遗失?在过量的存在中,本应存在的恰好缺席。

道——象/Taoism:Semblance

“道生一,一生二,二生三,三生万物。”

线最纯粹、简约的视觉呈现是“一”,线在此成为艺术本原的符号;象,是艺术之道的纷繁样貌。万象无论如何繁复,终究依托于本原;而“一”,才是万象得以不断衍生的力量。

抬手间,“一”幻化为艺术视觉那些看似不露声色的简单,却是心历路程、社会意识、客观自然相互之间的碰撞、交织、剥离、抽取。“一”更是隐藏在视觉呈现的活态力量和支撑,这也是吸引人们费尽巧思用斑斓的形式探索但却无法脱离艺术本原的魅力所在。

当审美疲劳,繁华落尽,由繁入简的纯粹更加耐人寻味。

志异——非现实的几个可能/ Strange Stories: Several Non-physical Possibilities
策展:刘希言/ Curator: LIU Xiyan

中国的志异/志怪文化自古有之,并以侈谈鬼神、称道灵异而为国人所捧。志怪,顾名思义,就是记录异事,这种记录以小说居多,也是艺术创作中一直流传的经典题材之一。志异文化凝练了中国传统文化神秘、内敛的特点,又以一种夸张、吊诡的想象呈现出来,一些典故传说中善恶有报、轮回转世等充满现实隐喻的警示感,以及叙述中采用的非正统文学的禁忌感,在让人敬畏、惧怕的同时又满足了世人的猎奇之心。

现今,对传统文化的特别关注、对本土元素的反复解构、对周遭世界的另类想象、对幽明殊途的新认知,以及对艺术媒介与艺术题材之间的融合/矛盾的不断反思,使得一些青年艺术家选择志异文化作为创作题材。他们或对志异小说中的桥段进行新演绎;或从个体经验和幻想出发,以多种媒介来记录自己的异想、幻境。在发达的信息传媒无形中限制我们想象力的这个时代,他们提供了新志异的可能。

时间的形态/ The Shape of Time
策展:闵志伊/ Curator: MIN Zhiyi

时间作为一种客观存在,是人类在认识、描述、归纳自然的漫长过程中总结出来的概念。中国古人习惯于一种宏观的、慢节奏的时间观,只注重时的延续性。到了现代社会,因为即时性、瞬间性观念的产生,“间”的概念被引了进来,“时间”一词也进行了自我更新,将宏观与微观的双重维度包容了进来。现在每个人对时间都有自己的理解!我此次选择了三类作品:日常形态的生活用品——手表;以摄影形式表现的观念形态中的时间;实验形态的试听设计。三种不同形态的作品围绕着“时间”这一主题,并置在同一空间中。在这一空间中,作品如何通过自身来表达对“时间”的探索?观者如何来观看这些作品?作品与观众之间会产生怎样的交流,这些未知都是我希望通过这次展览来尝试探索的。

为什么是抽象/ Why the Abstraction

中央美术学院有一个重要的教学传统就是写实技法的训练。我们从历届素描展上都可以看到学生们扎实的写实基本功。同时每年的毕业展上都有抽象作品出现。那么,这些经历了严格写实技法训练的学生们是如何创作出这些抽象作品,这是一个什么样的过程?本次关于抽象的主题展由于场地局限只挑选了五位研究生的作品,希望通过对抽象语言的探讨,能帮助大家对此类艺术的了解。

艺术史研究中,对那些伟大抽象艺术家作品的讨论,往往是从其早期作品开始,进而呈现其创作的发展脉络。例如对马列维奇的研究,我们可以看到艺术家对图像的一个提炼的过程。

马列维奇的早期作品说明写实不仅是抽象的对立面,同时还能成为抽象的基础。至此,似乎也就不难理解本次展览这五位研究生的创作过程了。他们也应该是经历了一个绘画语言提炼的过程。这个过程一定是精简而极致的艺术语言提炼。我想,这可能就是抽象艺术的魅力吧。此类艺术没有废话,是艺术家费尽心机呈现出来的一点最精华的东西。所以,我也非常理解这些选择抽象语言的艺术家们,他们只愿意给观者提供心灵中的致纯致精的养分。

在终结处发生——关于艺术的似与不似/What Happens at the End: About The Likeness and Unlikeness of Art

在学院学习艺术,就是要最大限度地去尝试不同的艺术理念和手法,无顾忌去想象艺术语言,最为纯粹地去思辨艺术与生活的关系。学习就是要学习到各个方面的艺术表现和艺术发展,越是能理解非艺术,也越是理解何以为艺术。在这届毕业生展览上,我选择若干作品,试图以它们来说明直接性的关系,去看看艺术框架内的可能性。既可以对图像的生产与消费给予质疑,也可对生存的焦灼白描记录,也可以捕获瞬间的内心焦虑。不以艺术为出发点是回到事物的原初,以艺术为目的是展示个体的思维着力点。

另类生存/ Alternative Existence

在这样的世界上,我们往往以一种“另类”的生存方式存在着,并将这样的“另类生存”的方式与欲望强加于他人他物之上。这种“另类生存”究竟有多少是来自于我们自身的欲求、我们的选择、我们的设计?还是更多的是“被欲望”、“被选择”、“被设计”呢?所谓的“异化”,是指被异化并同时异化着这个世界。而艺术,恰恰是从这样的“另类”和“异化”开始,用一种“另类”的方式,另类的艺术方式或艺术的另类方式,描述着一个另类的世界,及对这个世界做另类的描述。这其间构成了很有趣的关系:一个被另类和异化的世界,被一种称之为“艺术”的另类方式所描述着,生成着我们生存和艺术存在的问题与意义。

每年的毕业展,几乎都会出现“撞衫”的作品。这种无意识的碰巧,究竟是受某些流行符号和流行文化影响,还是来源于类似的学院系统训练,抑或对同一问题、题材和观念的探索从而引申出的同一外表?

目光掠过“毕业展”密集的展厅,观者似乎可以很简单地从他们的角度判定它们为相似,甚至忽略其中论证的过程。但是,这种结论是否过于草率,是否有必要在得出结论之前对其相似性来做一些个案研究和创作探索,从而寻求相似之下存在的合理和突破的可能。当然,我们讨论存在的合理,却不能忽视巧合的必然;我们尊重个体的不同,却也无法回避大环境的推动。

CAFA can publish these materials by electronic, web, or other digital means, and I hereby agree to be included in the China Knowledge Resource Bank, the CAFA Database, the CAFA Art Museum Database, and related data, documentation, and filing institutions and platforms. Regarding their use in CAFA and dissemination on the internet, I agree to make use of these rights according to the stated Rules.

Article I

The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
