版画的艺术盛宴——“三条命——王华祥个展”、“自东之光——河东哲邀请展”及“托马斯·吴:月之暗面”同天开幕

经过暑期的紧张筹备,中央美院美术馆集团队之力呈现了九月份第一次展览高峰,仅工作第一周就有六场展览同期开幕。9月11日当天,中央美术学院造型学院版画系王华祥教授、原韩国国立首尔大学美术学院河东哲教授及美国哥伦比亚大学托马斯·吴教授的个展分别在美术馆一层大厅举办了开幕仪式。这三位来自世界上不同国家的艺术家,共同为中央美术学院美术馆营造了一场版画艺术的盛宴。同时,值教师节之际,策划这三场展览,也是美术馆对为艺术教育事业做出巨大贡献的全世界的教师队伍的一次致敬。

上午10时,“三条命——王华祥个展”在一层大厅首先开幕,中央美术学院院长范迪安、副院长苏新平、造型学院院长马路、策展人刘礼宾等人受邀参加,各院系教授及校外嘉宾悉数到场,开幕式现场迅速升温,成为一次学院内外艺术创作及理论界的大聚会。开幕式由苏新平副院长主持,范迪安院长、马路教授、王华祥教授及策展人刘礼宾分别发言。

范迪安院长谈道,“提名展已经成为一个新的学术品牌,王华祥教授的个展成为这个学术品牌新的成果。在80年代风起云涌思潮变更的态势中他坚持了自己的版画艺术,始终不变的是对文化的持续思考,他的创作将对传统的体认与对当代的追寻结合起来,使其成为多维的呈现。”马路教授借用王华祥教授常说的“将错就错”一词来谈其对于艺术创作与教育体系的理念,他认为,“‘将错就错’实际上是一种‘大无畏’的精神”。策展人刘礼宾介绍“王华祥老师的展览是对他近些年来艺术创作线索的一次梳理,也是激活他新的创作历程的一次契机。”王华祥老师在发言中称,“这次展览就像是一场巨大的战役,与以往远离生活漩涡的创作非常不同,而成为一种疯狂的创作行为,是一种全新的体验,也将开启我新的创作状态与创作阶段。”

开幕式结束之后,嘉宾与观众一道前往二层展厅观看作品,在展览现场,多位艺术家与批评家在作品前展开激烈讨论。随后,研讨会在贵宾厅展开,近四十位国内艺术批评及理论研究专家受邀参与。研讨会围绕着王华祥教授不同时期的作品中所呈现出来的特质展开,作为贵州艺术家群体的集体性与其离经叛道的独特性,自我流放的精神状态与本质上属精英的自我认定。总之,作为一个离经叛道者与质疑者,他的角色被所有人认同。研讨会从上午十点多开始,一直进行到下午五点左右结束。

下午两点,“自东之光:河东哲邀请展”在美术馆二层A展厅进行了开幕之前的媒体导览,由艺术家河东哲教授的女儿金河媛女士讲述其父亲的创作生涯并解读其艺术语言及内涵。何东哲先生的版画作品惯用线条与渐变的色彩,根据金河媛女士所述,横线代表人与人之间的关系,竖线则代表人与上帝之间的关系。在他的作品中,光是最重要的题材,也是最重要的语言。

随后,哥伦比亚大学版画系系主任托马斯·吴教授在三层A展厅对自己参展的系列作品进行了创作阐述并回答了媒体提问。他解释道,“月之暗面”代表的是一种对未知的探索,这是他在创作中最想表达的东西。参展的几十幅作品以“白-黑-灰”三类色调进行有序的转换,“正如影子的转换一般。”同时,他认真地陈述了眼前以玻璃为面的作品所使用的多种媒介以及自己如何受到“油包炸药”这一事物的影响。

下午三点整,“自东之光:‘光的画家’河东哲邀请展”的开幕式在一层大厅举行。随后,“托马斯·吴:月之暗面”的开幕仪式在四点开始。王璜生馆长主持了两场开幕式。参加河东哲先生个展开幕式的嘉宾包括:中央美术学院范迪安院长、原中央美术学院副院长孙为民先生、索芙特·本克韩国投资公司社长文奎学先生及副社长姜东锡先生、中方策展人金日龙先生和河东哲先生的夫人金夏子女士与二个女儿。范迪安院长致开幕辞,他特别强调,“美院不会忘记对中韩两国艺术交流做出重要贡献的河东哲先生,在中韩两国艺术家的合力下,艺术的‘东方之光’必定向世界传播。”大韩民国驻中国大使馆首席公使朴银河女士发来贺词。河东哲先生的夫人金夏子女士发言致谢,感谢所有关心其先生的中方友人及工作团队为此次展览所负出的努力;

参加“托马斯·吴:月之暗面”开幕式的嘉宾为中央美术学院副院长苏新平教授、造型学院院长马路教授、版画系系主任王华祥教授、副主任张烨教授以及北京虚苑文化艺术发展有限公司创始人姜兴道先生。苏新平介绍,“托马斯·吴受到了中国艺术的复杂性与深刻性的冲击,从而引发了做这批作品到中国来展览的冲动,对此我们深感荣幸。”王华祥在发言中代表学校希望两校之间能借此机会建立更多的交流,托马斯·吴在发言中回应愿与美院加强教学合作。

九月初秋的美术馆,国内外老一辈艺术家与中青年艺术家的作品同时展出,呈现的不仅仅是不同阅历的人生与不同语言的创作对艺术的迥异表达,更能透过作品窥见每个作为独立思想者的艺术家与各个时代、国家、民族的关系建立。

If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
