寻求传统、时代与自我的新文人态:“态——王少军艺术展”开幕

2015年12月27日,中央美术学院美术馆迎来岁末展览“态——王少軍艺术展”的开幕。此次展览由中央美术学院、中国美术家协会、中国雕塑协会主办,展现了著名雕塑艺术家、中央美术学院党委副书记王少軍先生多年以来的创作实践和学术思考。展览以“事儿”、“角儿”、“趣儿”为题呈现为三个极具文人情怀的主题版块,较为全面地呈现了他在追寻、回望古代哲学思想与关注、关怀当今社会的过程中所形成的精神世界与内心独白。展览的背后,也承载着在中央美术学院的学术与传统背景中成长起来的一代知识分子对文化传承的使命感。









开幕式由中央美院美术馆馆长王璜生主持,出席开幕式的嘉宾有中央美术学院院长范迪安、原党委书记杨力、党委副书记孙红培、造型学院院长马路、雕塑系主任吕品昌、雕塑系教授隋建国等校内各院系领导和代表,以及中国美术馆馆长吴为山、中国美术馆副馆长张子康、中国国家画院雕塑院执行院长陈云岗、清华大学美术学院雕塑系主任董素等,另外,中央美术学院老一辈艺术家董祖怡、司徒兆光、孙家钵、赵瑞英、郭宝寨、苏高礼、文国璋等先生均到场出席。



展览的学术主持、总策划范迪安院长首先代表学院向王少军教授表示祝贺。他强调作为从中央美院这个有着深厚传统的学院中走出来的艺术家,王少军教授身上集中显现出传统与时代、知识分子群体与其个人的面貌。正如他在展览前言中所述,“少军为艺真诚、为人朴素、行事低调”,而这次展览则是难得的能够让人全面了解他的机会。这一梳理,使他在几十年默默无闻的埋头创作中所积累的各类作品惊人亮相,体现出一位长期投入探索的艺术家的真诚朴实的状态。

态,作为本次展览之名,从中可见他从八十年代改革开放后的背景中走出来不断思考与探索创新的艺术之路。简而言之,感受时代与尊重自我,是范迪安院长认为王少军教授在艺术道路上的主要特征。在坚持追寻艺术文脉与创新胆略的实践之中,他的作品把人物的个体、生活化的形态和理想相结合,并且有强烈的行走的意味、仰望的姿态,使人在会心一笑后陷入深思。



王少军教授所塑造的人文肖像从名人肖像到普通人肖像,体现出其从“技”到“艺”再到“道”的人文理想,中国美术馆馆长吴为山在致辞中如是表达。对于中央美术学院师生在当下大环境中整体扎根于学术土壤的创作状态,吴为山馆长表示敬佩。他认为,中央美术学院在近代以来西学东渐的过程中,有意识地将西方文化植入于中央美术学院这片肥沃的土壤并使其生根开花。王少军教授个人的发展轨迹,实际上体现了中央美术学院几代艺术大师对教学与创作事业一如既往的实在追求。



中国雕塑学会副会长、中央美院雕塑系隋建国教授以八十年代王少军教授的艺术创作来反观他几十年的创作脉络,“从当年摆放在老美院雕塑系走廊上的那件作品看过来”,隋建国教授认为这次展览由新作品所反映出来的对艺术的思考、探索,能够代表中国这十年来雕塑发展的一个方向,即对中国雕塑传统的重新审视和靠拢。在对传统的追溯上,他认为王少军的作品体现出雕塑的写意性和与平民价值相关的人文理想。



“我们不活跃,但我们很真诚”,造型学院院长马路教授在回忆他们这一代人的生命状态时,指出他们是把绘画与雕塑创作理解为“理想”和“情怀”来实现的。王少军教授的人物塑造多表现“看天”的姿态,马路教授认为这表达了他所思考的与实在相对的那一部分。实与虚的同在,正如他将以实在的材质与体量来表达的雕塑放在空的架子上,实和空产生了一种穿越感,也如同中国人对玉这种又实在又透明之物的特殊审美。“总有一个东西,是根植在心里的,就和他的雕塑一样,总不能变。”



中央美院雕塑系吕品昌教授在致辞中称,“在当代艺术圈,王少军不算一个弄潮儿,也不算活跃,但他的作品有足够的份量和厚度。”对此,吕品昌教授做出进一步解释,他认为不迎合潮流,来自于其开阔的视野、深度的艺术思想和对当下艺术把握的自信。尽管受过严谨的训练,但绝不拘泥于用技术去模仿对象,而是从自己的内心感受出发。在王少军教授的绘画、雕塑中有很多他的想象,这与他的经历和现实之间的冲突相关联。他认为,尽管当代艺术有很多的可能,但最感人的一定是从个人出发切入时代,“他的文脉、气质、思想只能是中国的,也是这个时代的。”



作为本次展览的主角,一贯行事低调的王少军教授在最后的发言中讲述了这次展览筹备对他产生的影响。朴素的表达却饱含情感。在听完各位发言人对自己作品的理解之后,王少军教授惊讶并深受感动于在平日并无创作上的过多言语沟通的情况下,各位对自己所形成的深入了解。受此触动,他也表示应该改变自己以往较为封闭的状态。于他而言,“我和我的我”式的生命状态使他长时间处于自省之中,此次展览,已是王少军教授在长期保持深度独处的状态下迈出的一大步。他表示,展览的目的并不在于展示,而是希望借作品和大家交交心。最后,他对所有在此次展览当中给予支持和贡献的人表示诚挚感谢。







在王少军教授个人的艺术生命和所呈现的艺术形态里,显现出一种“新文人态”,的确,此次展览是学校对改革开放后成长起来、身上凝聚了美院精神的一代艺术家、知识分子的个案梳理,然而深处于中央美术学院深厚的人文与艺术传统里,这一种“态”,也可透见那一代人在勇于探索时代、担负文化传承和寻求自我表达这一思路上的集体身影。

Article V

During the event, event participants should respect the order of the museum event and ensure the safety of the museum site, the artworks in displays, exhibitions, and collections, and the derived products. If an event causes any degree of loss or damage to the museum site, space, artworks, or derived products due to an individual, persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for losses. The event participant must negotiate and provide compensation according to the relevant legal statutes and museum rules. The museum may sue for legal and financial liability.

Article VI

Event participants will participate in the event under the guidance of museum staff and event leaders or instructors and must correctly use the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities provided for the event. If a participant causes injury or harm to him/herself or others while using the painting tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, or causes the damage or destruction of the tools, materials, equipment, and/or facilities, the event participant must undertake all related liability and provide compensation for the financial losses. Persons not involved in the accident and the museum do not undertake any liability for personal accidents.

CAFA Art Museum Portraiture Rights Licensing Agreement

According to The Advertising Law of the People’s Republic of China, The General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and The Provisional Opinions of the Supreme People’s Court on Some Issues Related to the Full Implementation of the General Principles of the Civil Law of the People’s Republic of China, and upon friendly negotiation, Party A and Party B have arrived at the following agreement regarding the use of works bearing Party A’s image in order to clarify the rights and obligations of the portrait licenser (Party A) and the user (Party B):

I. General Provisions

(1) Party A is the portraiture rights holder in this agreement. Party A voluntarily licenses its portraiture rights to Party B for the purposes stipulated in this agreement and permitted by law.

(2) Party B (CAFA Art Museum) is a specialized, international modern art museum. CAFA Art Museum keeps pace with the times, and works to create an open, free, and academic space and atmosphere for positive interaction with groups, corporations, institutions, artists, and visitors. With CAFA’s academic research as a foundation, the museum plans multi-disciplinary exhibitions, conferences, and public education events with participants from around the world, providing a platform for exchange, learning, and exhibition for CAFA’s students and instructors, artists from around the world, and the general public. As a public institution, the primary purposes of CAFA Art Museum’s public education events are academic and beneficial to society.

(3) Party B will photograph all CAFA Public Education Department events for Party A.

II. Content, Forms of Use, and Geographical Scope of Use

(1) Content. The content of images taken by Party B bearing Party A’s likeness include: ① CAFA Art Museum ② CAFA campus ③ All events planned or executed by the CAFAM Public Education Department.

(2) Forms of Use. For use in CAFA’s publications, products with CDs, and promotional materials.

(3) Geographical Scope of Use

The applicable geographic scope is global.

The media in which the portraiture may be used encompasses any media that does not infringe upon Party A’s portraiture rights (e.g., magazines and the internet).

III. Term of Portraiture Rights Use

Use in perpetuity.

IV. Licensing Fees

The fees for images bearing Party A’s likeness will be undertaken by Party B.

After completion, Party B does not need to pay any fees to Party A for images bearing Party A’s likeness.

Additional Terms

(1) All matters not discussed in this agreement shall be resolved through friendly negotiation between both parties. Both parties may then sign a supplementary agreement, provided it does not violate any laws or regulations.

(2) This agreement comes into effect on the date that it is signed (sealed) and the relevant boxes are selected by Party A and Party B.

(3) This agreement exists in paper and electronic forms. The paper form is made in duplicate, with Party A and Party B each retaining one copy with the same legal efficacy.

Event participants implicitly accept and undertake all the obligations stated in this agreement. Those who do not consent will be seen as abandoning the right to participate in this event. Before participating in this event, please speak to your family members to obtain their consent and inform them of this disclaimer. After participants sign/check the required box, participants and their families will be seen as having read and agreed to these terms.
